RAISE THE PADDLE FOR PLAYWORKS

We are excited to announce Newcastle Elementary will be teaming up with Playworks for the 2023-2024 school year! We hope you will join us tonight in “raising the paddle” to help fund the development, training, strategies, games, and systems to sustain a positive educational culture for everyone, starting with recess at Newcastle Elementary.

Playworks is the leading national non-profit using play to transform schools. We are proud to partner with Playworks to make recess a fun, inclusive time for every student in our community. A Playworks recess creates a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills.

We will work in partnership with Playworks to launch the TEAM UP program. Our Playworks site coordinator will spend one week out of every month at our school to train, build and sustain a high-functioning recess. Our recess team staff will implement these new strategies to help all students at Newcastle Elementary experience safe and healthy play every day.
